• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
  
  

Responsibilities

The Pathology Assistant functions as a professional who assumes responsibility for assisting the Pathologist with autopsies, performing or assisting in accessioning, dissection, grossing, evisceration, description, and histologic sampling of a full range of surgical specimens under the general supervision of a Pathologist

Qualifications

Job Requirements :

• Master’s degree, Anatomic Pathology or equivalent education/experience.
• Familiarity with Anatomic Pathology procedures, techniques, and instrumentation, experience including grossing surgical specimens.
• 3 years’ experience at a hospital laboratory performing technical duties relating to anatomic pathology.
  
  

Preferred Job Requirements:

• ASCP or equivalent certification as a Pathology Assistant.
• Familiarity with the Epic Lab information system.
  
  

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education , and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
