In this role, you'll provide vital support to veterinarians, deliver top-notch patient care, and help clients navigate urgent medical needs with professionalism and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
- Perform essential technical duties such as:
- IV catheter placement, monitoring and caring for hospitalized patients, administering medications and fluids.
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring and recovery during surgical procedures
- Collecting samples for diagnostics (e.g., blood, urine, cytology).
- Radiography and laboratory analysis.
- Triage patients and provide initial assessments.
- Educate and support clients regarding pet health and post-visit care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with practice standards.
- Active and current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in California is required
- Previous experience in a general practice, urgent care and/or emergency setting is a plus
- Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- 40 hours/ week- (4 day a week work schedule/10 hr shifts)
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($28-32/hr)
