The Animal Resource Center staff support the welfare of the animals and community served by Pasadena Humane by acting as frontline team members in customer care. The Animal Resource Center staff work with members of the public, staff, and volunteers to assist with animal-related appointments, intakes, and reunifications and ensuring all general inquiries from the members of public are addressed. They support the community through high-quality customer service; delivery of public services; coordinated admissions; problem solving; offering alternatives to intake; providing resources to help keep animals in their homes and out of the shelter; and helping ensure the welfare of the animals in our community. This position provides critical emergency services and may be required to work to ensure essential and emergency services are maintained in order to meet operational requirements.REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma (or GED/proficiency certificate). Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment. Well-developed interpersonal, public speaking, and communication skills. Experience working in an open admissions shelter strongly preferred.Experience handling domestic animals and/or wildlife in a medical, zoological, rehabilitation, agricultural or research setting strongly preferred. Knowledge of normal cat and dog behavior strongly preferred. Knowledge of low stress handling and restraint techniques for domestic animals and wildlife preferred.Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.High competency in a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and email.Strong sense of professional judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to perform multiple tasks and manage several projects simultaneously.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Must be able to model Pasadena Humane’s Core Values of Learning, Integrity Collaboration and Kindness. WORK SCHEDULE Must come to work regularly and on time. Must be available able to work early hours according to the needs of the department schedule.
