What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist (Pediatrics) position at PAS-Research?
Job Overview:
We are expanding! We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Research team. As a Medical Assistant with our Research team, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about healthcare and have a desire to make a positive impact on patients' lives and the future of medicine. You MUST have the ability to multi task and have strong attention to detail skills! Must have your own transportation.
Duties:
- Perform vital signs assessments, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate, PEDIATRIC BLOOD DRAW EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and vaccinations
- Provide basic life support in emergency situations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, patient follow-up
-Ability to effectively communicate with parents regarding Research Studies for which their child may be eligible to participate.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide exceptional patient service with compassion and empathy
- Proficiency in medical administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing electronic health records
- Basic life support certification preferred
- Previous experience working in a Pediatric clinic is strongly preferred.
-Comfortable performing blood draws with Pediatric patients (MUST)
