Manufacturing Associate

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for preparing door panels for distribution by operating equipment in production floor setting. Assembling and checking door parts to aid in quality control.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

1. Starts assembly and production machinery at beginning of shift

2. Monitors equipment to ensure that products are being assembled properly.

3. Makes sure that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials

4. Assembles product parts by hand

a. Stretches vinyl onto door panel

5. Observes and removes faulty product parts

6. Reports issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor

7. Comply with all safety rules:

a. Participates in Monthly Safety meetings

b. Wears safety equipment as directed

c. Ensures all members of department staff adhere to company’s policies, procedures, and safety protocols

8. Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Much of work is performed on a busy production floor. Exposure to some noise and dust may be expected. Work may be performed around heavy machinery. Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking, standing, lifting is required daily.

EFFORT:

Must be able to read, see, hear, and speak. Intermittent standing throughout a 10-hour shift.

Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, feeling, grasping, bending, lifting, reaching and stretching. Must be able to lift, push, pull and store equipment, such as safety gear and production materials, that could require exertion and lifting of more than 30 lbs. Assistance must be sought after if lifting is to be in excess of 50 lbs.

Requires repetitive motions with wrists, hands and arms. Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Subjected to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Subjected to noise that may cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.

Subjected to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical currents. Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.

· Heat gun

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Possesses knowledge of the structure and function of production equipment

· Can identify problems or malfunctions with machinery and equipment

· Pays close attention to detail

· Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines

· Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions

· Demonstrates ability to use power tools safely and effectively

· Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time

· Possesses physical dexterity necessary to assemble product parts
