Director of Training

1 Battery Park Plaza, New York

Partnership With Children (PWC) strengthens the mental health and well-being of New York City students by embedding licensed social workers and comprehensive supports directly in schools reaching over 20,000 children and families each year. Across our core partner schools we build ecosystems of support that empower students, support families, and transform schools through trauma-informed counseling, community-based programming, and healing-based arts education—creating nurturing environments that foster resilience, learning, and opportunity.

PWC is launching a new Director of Training position for a strategic and entrepreneurial leader who is excited to build, grow, and sustain a high-impact training program. This role combines deep content expertise, strong facilitation skills, and operational rigor with a start-up mindset—someone who enjoys turning ideas into structured offerings, testing and refining approaches, and scaling what works. The Director of Training will translate Partnership with Children’s best practices into high-quality learning experiences for both internal staff and external partners, balancing internal professional development with the growth of a fee-for-service training portfolio. This role plays a critical part in advancing PWC’s mission while extending its impact across New York City.

Content Development/Knowledge Management

  • Support the design and development of a series of standardized training modules, drawing from the best practices of Partnership with Children, for both internal staff training and external fee-for-service audiences.
  • Ongoing development, expansion and updates of curriculum, training and learning modules.
  • Oversee audits of existing content ensuring the embedding of an equity lens to all content, specifically uplifting race, culture, gender, sexuality and ability.
  • Align the training offerings with regulatory requirements such as school age childcare requirements and continuing education credits.

Program Implementation

  • Serve as the primary external facilitator for workshops and professional learning communities, engaging other Partnership with Children staff to support trainings, as needed
  • Continually grow and evolve training program by identifying new opportunities, piloting offerings, and expanding modalities for learning in response to field and market needs
  • Ensure the incorporation of trainee feedback and outcomes into the design and implementation process.
  • Oversee the design and scaling of all administrative and operational supports to program implementation.

Outreach and Partnership

  • Through marketing and outreach efforts, engage individual practitioners from outside of Partnership with Children in fee for service training programs
  • Initiate, develop, and sustain strong relationships with fee-for-service partner organizations and schools

Administrative

  • Maintain an organized library of training agendas, materials and resources.
  • Manage the budget of the training department, including projecting annual revenue and expenses, monitoring financial performance, and making strategic decisions to support sustainable growth
  • Ensure the completion of all documentation related to training delivery.

Qualifications:

  • We are especially interested in candidates who bring an entrepreneurial orientation and are excited by the opportunity to build, scale, and sustain a training program that advances both mission and earned revenue
  • Master's Degree (MSW, MEd, or relevant field)
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, social work practices, leadership development, and youth development
  • At least 5 years of experience in training and development, at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems and platforms a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of high-need communities and public schools as well as social service, education and behavioral health issues that impact students and their families
  • Commitment to demonstrating PWC’s organizational values of Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Going to Solution, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion
  • Exceptional administrative skills.
  • Superior engagement, communication and presentation skills with multiple stakeholders including staff, principals, and parents
  • Ability to thrive in a high autonomy/high accountability environment, taking ownership for building structure, setting priorities, and delivering results
  • Ability to adapt; encourage openness, flexibility and creativity
  • Experience building something new—such as a program, department, initiative, or services—from concept through implementation and growth
  • Outstanding collaborator and consensus builder.
  • Flexible, multi-tasker who can handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Hybrid position—Estimated 20% of time working from home depending on season and training schedule
