Partnership for Public Good (PPG) is looking for a Lead Poisoning Prevention Task Force Coordinator. PPG is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2007.

The Task Force Coordinator is charged with accomplishing the strategic goals and initiatives of the Buffalo and Erie County Lead Safe Task Force (the “Task Force”). The Task Force is a cross-sector collaboration of organizations including non-profit housing and social service organizations, the Erie County Department of Health, the City of Buffalo, academia, philanthropy, and the medical community that work together to end Buffalo’s high rate of childhood lead poisoning. The Task Force advocates for policies and programs that improve the safety and quality of housing in Buffalo and Erie County. The Task Force also works to educate and inform tenants, landlords and caregivers about lead hazards and how to reduce exposure to lead.

The Task Force is currently housed at PPG with support from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo and other funders.

  • Working with the County Health Department to help cited property owners and tenants connect to available resources to address lead hazards and protect children from lead exposure;
  • Working with Task Force subcommittees on a variety of Task Force driven initiatives including increasing parent engagement and parent leadership; increasing blood lead level screening; supporting and tracking the implementation of City and County rental inspection programs, and policy advocacy at the local and state level.

  • The applicant for this position must demonstrate a commitment to addressing health disparities, improving child health and housing justice. A background knowledge of at least one of the following is required: Buffalo's sociopolitical landscape, public policy, law, public health, or housing.
