Production & Assembly Technician Position Summary

The Production & Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling products accurately and efficiently while meeting quality, safety, and production standards. This role works from work orders, blueprints, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions to complete product assembly, packaging, and preparation for shipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, assembly drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions to assemble products accurately.
  • Assemble manufactured products according to established specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.
  • Complete assembly builds efficiently to meet daily production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Perform bench and shop floor assembly of products and vehicle accessories.
  • Retrieve parts and materials from inventory as needed to complete production orders.
  • Prioritize work based on production schedules and supervisor direction.
  • Set up workstations and organize daily tasks according to production schedules or changing production priorities.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, including torque-controlled electric drills, wrenches, and other assembly equipment.
  • Rotate between workstations and cross-train to support multiple production areas as business needs require.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, workmanship, and quality before packaging.
  • Package finished products according to production schedules, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare packing lists, label finished products, and complete required production documentation accurately.
  • Stage completed products for shipment and coordinate with the shipping department.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using established housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection requirements.
  • Participate in product training, team meetings, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
  • Support the company's mission, vision, values, and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and assembly drawings preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to cross-train and work in multiple production areas.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as required.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
