Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CAD Drafter / Modeler to support large-scale design/build projects involving complex mechanical, structural, and electrical systems. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on detailed assemblies, technical drawings, and collaborating closely with engineers and project teams to bring unique designs to life.

Pay
$59,000 - $102,000 annually
Job Duties
- Develop and update 3D models, detailed part drawings, and full assembly layouts for complex systems and equipment.
- Create construction, fabrication, and installation drawings for mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical disciplines.
- Prepare Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), piping layouts, and tubing assemblies following ASME standards.
- Generate pressure vessel and weldment drawings with accurate dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Support engineers by converting design concepts into manufacturable models and assemblies.
- Perform BOM creation and management, ensuring all components, fasteners, and subassemblies are properly detailed for procurement.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to review designs for accuracy, manufacturability, and safety compliance.
- Work directly with vendors and fabrication teams to resolve design challenges, review redlines, and verify drawing accuracy.
- Manage drawing tree structures, revision histories, and documentation control within PLM or ERP systems.
- Review and interpret design standards, codes, and customer specifications to ensure design compliance and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification in CAD, mechanical design, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience as a CAD Drafter, Designer, or Modeler in a manufacturing, engineering, or fabrication environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 2019 or newer and AutoCAD 2019 or newer.
- Hands-on experience with P&ID drafting and assembly design required.
- Familiarity with ASME piping, pressure vessel codes, and mechanical fabrication standards preferred.
- Strong understanding of dimensioning, tolerancing, and GD&T practices.
- Working knowledge of PLM/ERP systems for BOM management and revision control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
