Role Description The Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in St. Petersburg, FL. This role supports project managers in coordinating day-to-day construction activities, including scheduling, material expediting, and communication with subcontractors and vendors. The Assistant Project Manager helps monitor project progress, creates, and assist with RFI’s, Change Orders, Submittals, assists with inspections and documentation, and ensures work aligns with safety standards, quality expectations, and timelines. Responsibilities include updating project logs, supporting logistics and deliveries, assisting with issue resolution on site, and collaborating with the project team to keep stakeholders informed. The role requires regular presence on job sites to support smooth operations and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
Qualifications -
Construction Experince either as a Project Coordinator or an APM is a must. Residential experinece is preferred.
- Experience with expediting and expeditor-related tasks, ensuring materials, permits, and approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
- Foundational project management skills, including scheduling, task tracking, and coordination of construction activities.
- Knowledge of inspection processes and standards, with the ability to assist in preparing for and supporting site inspections.
- Logistics management capabilities to help coordinate deliveries, manage inventory, and support efficient use of resources.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Basic understanding of residential construction practices and safety regulations; prior field or site experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with project management and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, scheduling tools); experience with construction management platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work on site daily in St. Petersburg, FL, and collaborate with diverse teams in a professional, respectful manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
