Starting Pay Range $24.00 - $39.50 - Hourly Depending on experience Job Description: Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:* Provide adapted physical education instruction to meet student needs and goals as specified on the IEP. In physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, and sports and games achievement Provide individualized assessment and instruction in neuromotor development, gross motor skills and abilities, physical fitness, games and sports, and other recreation and leisure activities Provide consultation and training to parents and staff regarding adapted physical education techniques Document student progress and present levels of performance by standardized, formal, curriculum-based, anecdotal and/or teacher made assessments Seek technical assistance and consultation as needed from colleagues, program support specialists, and Special Education Leadership Team Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of student Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community Ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication Education and Experience: BA/BS Degree Valid California Teaching Credential in Adapted Physical Education *The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all inclusive.
