Role Description
This contract-based Reading Specialist role is an on-site position located in Bethesda, MD. The Reading Specialist will provide tailored, one-on-one reading interventions and tutoring designed to improve literacy skills. Responsibilities include designing individualized reading programs, and collaborating with parents and educators to track progress and support the child's reading development.
Qualifications
Excellence
- in Reading intervention techniques to support the development of reading skills in students.
- Experience with Orton- Gillingham based resding programs and strategies designed to address specific learning needs.
- Proven expertise in Tutoring and mentoring students, particularly at the elementary and/or middle school level.
- Ability to create engaging and effective learning environments for students with diverse educational needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Reading, Special Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with special education strategies or certifications in literacy programs are a plus.
