Additionally, Hospice House in Bend, Oregon, is a specialty hospital for inpatient hospice care, creating an oasis of tranquility and comfort for patients and their families. Compensation: $40.00-$57.64 (DOE).  
Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 paid after 90 days of employment.
Location: Central Oregon. 
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm.  
Travel: Local/regional travel by personal vehicle during the working day, centralized from the Bend office. Mileage reimbursement is provided. 
 
What You Get To Do: The Support Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and evaluates home health services. They provide nursing care focusing on community health education and utilize organizational and community resources to meet the needs of patients and families at home. 

  • Complete an initial comprehensive (if HH includes OASIS) and accurate assessment of the patient and family to determine home health needs.  Provide a complete physical assessment and history of previous illness (es) and use the health assessment data to determine the appropriate diagnosis and need for other disciplines and resources. 
  • Provide nursing procedures and treatments per plan of care.  Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician. 
  • Complete and update the ongoing assessments and care plan as the patient’s status changes. 
  • Provide health care instructions and education to the patient and/or family, per the assessment plan and the patients’ caregivers’ ability to learn. Adapt teaching styles to meet the patient’s and family’s needs. 
  • Coordinate patient care with the patient’s case manager. Provide verbal or email updates as necessary. 
  • Communicates with the physician regarding the patient’s needs, reports, and changes in the patient’s condition; obtains/receives physician’s orders as required. 
  • Participate in on-call duties as defined by the on-call policy. 
Required Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Valid Oregon RN License. 
  • Ability to pass a background test, including a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), drug screen, and TB test.  
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school. 
  • One to two years of recent medical care experience in an institutional setting is preferred. Ideal candidates will possess 1-2 years of home health or hospice experience. 
  • Current automobile insurance is required. 
  • A valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation. 
  • Valid CPR Certification. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
