Partners in Building is hiring a Junior Designer to join our Design Center team.
This position is perfect for someone passionate about interior design, architecture, and creating exceptional experiences for custom homebuyers. The Junior Designer will support our Designers and Design Center Manager while gaining hands-on experience in the luxury custom home industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with interior and exterior selections for custom homes
• Prepare selection sheets, customization addendums, and flooring diagrams
• Create exterior ACC boards and reference drawings in AutoCAD
• Maintain design center product libraries and showroom displays
• Coordinate with vendors to request samples and product information
• Support Designers with buyer presentations and appointments
• Assist with inventory/spec home selections and documentation
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring Design Center environment
• Work closely with Sales, Construction Managers, and the Design team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Interior Design degree preferred
• 2–3 years of experience in a builder Design Center or Interior Design firm
• Experience selecting interior and exterior finish materials
• Ability to read and understand architectural plans
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Excel, and other Windows-based software
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Houston, TX, for a Junior Designer. The Junior Designer will assist in creating exceptional custom home designs, collaborating with the design team and clients to develop functional and visually appealing layouts. Responsibilities include preparing design plans, maintaining project documentation, conducting design revisions based on client feedback, and ensuring projects align with the company's high standards and customer expectations. The Junior Designer will also stay updated on design trends and maintain an organized workflow to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of interior and architectural design principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with clients and team members
- Project coordination and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Attention to detail and a strong creative vision for developing unique, client-focused designs
- Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field
- Experience in residential design or the construction industry is a plus
