Position Summary
The Executive Director is outward-facing and development-focused, with limited operational oversight. This role is responsible for advancing the organization’s mission through fundraising, donor stewardship, board relations, strategic partnerships, and community engagement. The Executive Director works collaboratively with the Chief Administrative Officer and Office Manager to ensure organizational success.
Core Responsibilities
1. Fundraising & Development
- Lead fundraising strategy and donor development efforts
- Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, sponsors, and foundations
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities with support from the Chief Administrative Officer
- Lead fundraising campaigns and special events
2. Governance & Board Relations
- Serve as primary liaison between staff and Board of Directors
- Prepare and present monthly and annual reports on organizational performance
- Support board development, recruitment, orientation, and engagement
- Partner with the Board on long-term organizational strategy in collaboration with the Chief Strategy and Administrative Officer
- Ensure implementation of Board policies and directives
3. Community Relations & External Partnerships
- Serve as primary spokesperson and ambassador for Partners for Healing
- Develop and maintain partnerships with hospitals, corporations, nonprofits, faith communities, and civic organizations
- Represent PFH at public meetings, conferences, and community events
- Strengthen community awareness and organizational visibility
4. Operational Oversight
- Maintain high-level awareness of clinic performance and organizational operations
- Review operational reports regularly
- Provide strategic guidance on major operational issues
- Delegate daily operations to the Office Manager and administrative oversight to the Chief Administrative Office
- Approve major expenditures and financial commitments
5. Strategic Leadership and Organizational Culture
· Collaborate on strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives
· Identify opportunities for new partnerships and program expansion
- Ensure mission alignment across organizational priorities
- Supervise and evaluate staff & volunteers
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development support
- Ensure implementation of HR policies and compliance with employment laws
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission-driven service
6. Communications & Brand Oversight
- In collaboration with the Chief Administrative Officer, oversee and guide organizational messaging, branding, and communications strategy
- Support the development of newsletters, reports, and public materials
- Ensure consistent and mission-aligned external communications
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience:
- Leadership experience in nonprofit or healthcare setting
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant management, and financial oversight
Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic thinking and executive leadership
- Ability to convey community needs for funding purposes
- Knowledge of community health and underserved populations
