The Client Onboarding Associate located in Boston will be responsible for coordinating the onboarding and account opening for a range of clients, serving as a primary point of contact to new clients and to the Investment Teams managing client portfolios. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining Partners Capital’s high standards and ensuring a positive client experience. This is a newly created position within our Client Operations team.
This role is client facing with both internal and external stakeholders, and thus a strong candidate will be comfortable interacting with clients and counterparties in a professional manner with a high attention to detail. At the onset, the individual will help to implement new procedures, leveraging existing processes and teams where they exist and creating new processes if needed. Over time the candidate will be expected to have a good understanding of different investing entity structures and the documentation associated with each, a good level of regulatory knowledge and familiarity with Partners Capital and our third-party processes.

The successful candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities in multiple areas and will be expected to be flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to the firm’s continued success, including but not limited to:
Client Account Onboarding
- Work with members of the Business Development, Investment, Compliance, and Client Operations teams to onboard new client accounts.
- Preparation of the Partners Capital investment advisory agreement and associated account opening documentation
- Reviewing different client account structures and reviewing Know Your Client (KYC) documentation
- Ensuring Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations are adhered to
- Internal account set up and logging of client information
- Client third party account set-up (e.g., custodian, brokerage)
- Partners Capital client portal account set-up
- Maintaining and logging all client documentation
- Seamless hand-off to Client Service team once account opening is complete
- Work with Portfolio Reporting team to coordinate client reporting requirements
- Work with the manager responsible for account onboardings to increase operational efficiency.
- Drive excellence in operations and client service across a range of Institutional and Private client relationships
- Manage operations communication externally with clients and their counterparties.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in managing client relationships (e.g. Business Development, Investment Team, Compliance)
- Maintain and update Onboarding checklist, KPI dashboard, and Onboarding database
- Respond to operations related RFP inquires and requests for prospective clients
- Assist with creating materials used in client meetings
- Assist with the population and development of internal client information databases
Project and Strategic Initiatives
- Assess and make recommendations to improve processes and procedures
- Collaborate across the team and Firm to implement process improvement initiatives
- Support the management team with strategic and tactical onboarding team development projects
Key responsibilities will be regularly assessed and are subject to change from time to time based on the needs of the business. The individual may be required to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications / Attributes
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience (2-4 years) in investment operations, investor relations, or onboarding experience is preferred
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily workloads while working efficiently and accurately
- Articulate self-starter with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
- High degree of integrity and professionalism

Massachusetts requires Partners Capital to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role. This base salary range is specific to individuals applying to work in our Massachusetts office and takes into account a number of factors. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $65,000 - $80,000. The base salary offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
The base salary is one element of our competitive compensation package. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
