Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Stabilization Counselor to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide crisis management and crisis intervention services to de-escalate acute situations involving mental health emergencies, trauma, PTSD, or behavioral crises.
- Implement behavior management strategies and conduct behavioral therapy to support clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, social workers, educators, and case managers to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support for clients.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations; utilize CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, grief counseling, or related clinical fields.
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, crisis management protocols, and behavior management strategies.
- Expertise in working with children, adolescents, adults with disabilities—including autism—and geriatric populations within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical records management.
- Skilled in administering diagnostic evaluations for PTSD care, chronic pain counseling, gender issues counseling, and special education needs.
- Experience with telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery; understanding of HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Ability to apply various therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and psychopharmacology principles when appropriate.
- Excellent case management skills with a focus on patient assessment and individualized treatment planning; capable of working effectively under pressure during crisis situations.
