We are looking for an energetic and solutions-oriented person with experience in repairing, installing, and maintaining equipment used in a food manufacturing environment to join our maintenance team. Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor directly supervises maintenance employees to ensure the effective delivery of maintenance services to support production in the process of manufacturing food products with quality and safety. This includes planning, assigning and directing work, coordinating regular meetings and training activities, and addressing problems. This position will be responsible for maintaining high efficiency and maintenance on our food production equipment, building facilities and other areas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities-Management and Supervision.
Safety:
- Work with maintenance technician and production supervisors to ensure that all safety policies and procedures are enforced.
- Adherence to proper food safety and sanitation regulations and policies procedures.
- Support all safety and food safety programs, policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Team:
- Point of contact for all maintenance related projects, equipment or personnel.
- Train and effectively manage the performance of maintenance crew.
- Provide leadership to the maintenance team by developing and implementing short range plans and identifying goals and objectives that are aligned with the company's vision and mission.
Facility and Equipment Maintenance:
- Ability to trouble shoot electrical issues, careful planning with Plant Manager to ensure that total maintenance objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Utilize work order system to track and manage projects. Communicate with Plant Manager of any delays, or issues that impede completion.
- Inspect or test damage machine parts, support technicians in replacement of parts.
- Work with outside sources for equipment replacement and repairs.
- Ensure correct disassembly and reassembly of equipment during sanitation activities.
- Implements corrective actions identified by production and maintenance team to maintain overall equipment effectiveness.
Data Analysis:
- Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment and processes.
- Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the reliability required for the particular situation considering the cost limitations for equipment up/down time, repair/replacement costs, weight, size and availability of materials/equipment.

Direct Supervisory responsibilities
- Supervises maintenance technicians (5-7)
Required Education and Experience
- 4 year college degree in a related field or Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree or certification from a vocational or trade school in manufacturing, engineering, technology, machining, welding, electrical or related field.
- Plus 5 to 7 years related work experience with progressive levels of responsibility.
- At least 3-5 years experience leading or supervising maintenance personnel.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in areas of fabrication, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, food manufacturing equipment.
- Experience and knowledge in dealing and working with: Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Experience with Food Safety GMP; 3rd party audits, and OSHA compliance.
Certifications, Licenses, Registration
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs on occasion and 30-50 lbs frequently.
- Ability to stand, crouch bend, climb stairs/steps, ladders.
- Excellent manual dexterity: strong physical endurance; ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk on wet or dry surfaces in the plant throughout the day.
Work Environment
- This position works in both the office environment and the bakery goods manufacturing environment.
WISHA/OSHA Category
- This position works in an environment where there is possible exposure to loud noises, vibrations, wet, humid environment, varying temperature changes from hot-to-cold to freezing depending on the work area, and the handling of allergen ingredients, including wheat, milk, eggs, tree nuts, and sesame.
- This position requires the use of ladders and stairs.
- Responsible for wearing Personal Protective Safety Equipment and /or infection control attire.
