Role Summary
Sets strategy, oversees underwriting performance, and drives business development to ensure profitability and growth of the casualty reinsurance portfolio.
Core Accountabilities
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the casualty portfolio
- Oversee underwriting, pricing, and structuring of complex treaties
- Manage portfolio profitability and performance across the cycle
- Lead broker and client relationships at a senior level
- Monitor market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments
- Report financial performance to senior leadership
- Lead and mentor underwriting team
Technical Competencies:
- Deep expertise across casualty lines
- Strong actuarial and financial acumen
- Advanced contract negotiation capability
- Portfolio management experience
- Knowledge of regulatory environment
- Project management competency
- Working knowledge of Power BI, Copilot and MS Office products.
- Strategic thinker
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent communication
- Decisive under pressure
- Client-focused mindset
- 10-15 years in reinsurance/insurance with significant casualty underwriting and leadership experience
- Relevant degree required; advanced degree and industry designations preferred
