What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Family Driver position at Part time family driver needed?
DC family in Lamond-Riggs, Washington DC, is looking for a responsible, friendly, and dependable college or graduate student to help with school transportation and after-school activities for our three kids (ages 5, 9, and 14).
Schedule:
- Mornings: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30–8:30 a.m. — school drop-offs at Yu Ying and DC International
- Afternoons: School pick-up and transportation to swimming, Girl Scouts, breakdancing, and other activities, generally 3:00/3:30–6:00 p.m.
- Friday afternoon is shorter (approximately 1:00–2:00 p.m.)
- Approximately 16–17 hours/week during the school year
Pay: $28/hour mileage reimbursement for use of your own car. Morning shifts have a guaranteed minimum of 1.5 hours of pay. Approximately $400-$500 per week.
We are especially interested in someone who lives or studies nearby and would like a consistent part-time job that can work around a college schedule.
You should have:
- A valid driver's license and excellent driving record
- A reliable, safe, insured vehicle that can accommodate three children
- Experience with and enjoy being around kids
- Dependability and good communication
- Availability for a consistent school-year commitment
Most of the job is driving and helping the kids get where they need to go rather than traditional nannying. We are a friendly, flexible family and are hoping to find someone who will enjoy getting to know our kids and becoming a regular part of their routine.
