Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and skilled X-ray Tube Painter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and applying specialized primers, paints, and other surface coatings to X-ray tube components, ensuring all products meet rigorous quality and safety specifications. This role requires a high degree of precision, adherence to strict safety protocols, and a strong attention to detail to ensure the integrity and performance of the final product. Industrial and residential painters preferred (non-automotive), that have experience with a paint spray gun.
What You'll Do:
Surface Preparation: Clean, wash, scrape, sand, and smooth interior and exterior surfaces of X-ray tube components and related equipment prior to painting.
Coating Application: Apply specialized primers, paints, and other surface coatings using various methods, including spray painting, ensuring even and complete coverage.
Quality Control: Examine materials and finished products to ensure they meet strict quality expectations and established variation ranges, identifying and documenting any defects or non-compliance issues.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all oral and written safety instructions, OSHA guidelines, and hazardous material handling procedures. This includes proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), managing waste disposal, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain painting and surface preparation equipment such as pneumatic machinery, sandblasters, sanders, and grinders. Troubleshoot minor malfunctions and report major repair needs to management.
Documentation & Inventory: Accurately document all work performed, material usage quantities, and inspection results. Monitor and report on inventory levels of paints, primers, and other supplies.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with production teams and management regarding order status, potential issues, and delays.
Physical Demands: Perform a variety of physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting/moving items up to 50 lbs.
What You'll Bring:
Proven experience as an industrial painter in a manufacturing setting, with experience in spray painting (non-automotive) preferred.
Basic math skills for paint mixing and calculations.
High attention to detail and precision in work.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify quality issues.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in repetitive work environment.
