Parspec is a vertical AI company revolutionizing the construction supply chain by digitizing and organizing unstructured product data. We are looking for Senior and Staff-level Applied Machine Learning Engineers to lead the architecture of our retrieval, ranking, and recommendation systems.
Construction data is messy, inconsistent, and trapped in multi-format manufacturer datasheets. You will move beyond basic keyword matching to design systems capable of deep semantic understanding—enabling customers to instantly find and compare products across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing categories.
- Hybrid Search & Ranking: Architect systems that blend keyword-based retrieval with dense vector embeddings to solve complex technical queries.
- Intelligent Retrieval: Design models that don't just find a document, but localize the exact technical section or specification within a datasheet.
- Functional Reasoning: Build logic to determine "substitutability" identifying functional equivalents across different manufacturers despite inconsistent terminology.
- Scalable AI Infrastructure: Deploy state-of-the-art models (LLMs, encoders, and agents) using modern vector databases and MLOps pipelines.
- A Technical Leader: You have a strong track record in Search, Ranking, Recommendation systems, or NLP/Document Extraction.
- A Skilled Architect: You are proficient in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) and have hands-on experience with Vector DBs.
- A Problem Solver: You are passionate about transforming unstructured technical data into actionable insights.
