Parsons is recruiting a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Manager to support complex infrastructure and technology projects that make a meaningful impact on the world around us. This position offers more than just a finance role-it provides the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and operations teams to help ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with strategic business objectives.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist in the development, tracking, and analysis of project budgets and forecasts
- Collaborate with project teams to monitor financial performance, track expenditures, and help mitigate financial risks
- Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support project and business decision-making
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis, while supporting management reporting, revenue tracking, and cost reconciliation
- Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and financial procedures
- Recommend and support process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and financial efficiency
- Assist with audits, cost proposals, and other financial documents as needed
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus
- 5 years of experience in financial analysis or project accounting, preferably within an engineering or contracting environment
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, logical functions, and data manipulation
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate across multiple teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and collaborative environment

- Experience working with a variety of contract types, including firm-fixed-price, cost reimbursement, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and time and materials contracts
