The Automotive Technician II position will be based in a Retail Tire Center, at one of our Parrish Tire Branches. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, interact with moving mechanical parts/equipment on a daily basis, and the noise level at the tire center is usually moderate to high.

A retail automotive service technician is an essential part of the PTC retail team. In this role you will have continued opportunity for growth with PTC as you continue to gain more experience and learn new skills. As a retail tire and general service technician you will be required to perform a wide range of tasks from mounting tires to oil changes and general maintenance items that may include but are not limited to the key points in the following points.
As an Automotive Technician II, you will be responsible for:
- Consistently working at an efficient rate.
- Focusing on work quality and customer satisfaction
- Certified to perform State Inspections
- Having the ability to adapt to different equipment (tire machines, balancers, etc.)
- Mounting and balancing basic OE tires on passenger cars and light trucks as well as after-market wheels, reverse drop center, low profile, etc.
- Performing minor repairs under the supervision of another technician.
- Performing basic oil and filter changes on vehicles including being able to accurately identify the required oil and filter specifications.
- Having the ability to identify tire and wheel sizes as well as tire ply ratings.
- Properly torquing wheels
- Resetting tire pressure monitoring system
- Performing flat tire repairs; being able to identify the cause of a leak and determine if it can be safely repaired or if it needs to be replaced, when repairing a tire you must adhere to TIA recommended procedures).
- Assist in shop and grounds clean up to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Keep equipment clean and organized
- Following Tire Industry Association safety procedures

To be successful in this role you will meet the following requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable and dependable and display excellent attendance.
- Basic TIA Tire Service Certification
- Ability to operate a forklift while loading or unloading freight, forklift certification class provided after employment.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 100lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 100lbs
- Ability to work in a hot and cold environment.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a similar role.
