What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Parra Klein LLC?
Parra Klein LLC | Elmwood Park, NJ | Full-Time, In-Office
Salary: $95,000–$195,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus and benefits
Parra Klein LLC is a growing plaintiff’s personal injury firm seeking a litigation associate with two to ten years of experience.
We have an active caseload and an established support team. We need an attorney who can help move cases forward: take and defend depositions, handle arbitrations and mediations, negotiate with carriers, appear in court, and push matters toward resolution.
The position can be tailored to the right candidate’s experience level. A more junior attorney will receive direct guidance and meaningful opportunities to develop. A more experienced attorney will have substantial autonomy and immediate responsibility for an active caseload.
You will have real inventory and meaningful litigation work from day one—not document review or administrative overflow.
- Manage a caseload of motor vehicle accident, premises liability, and other plaintiff-side personal injury matters
- Take and defend depositions regularly
- Handle arbitrations, mediations, court appearances, conferences, and motion practice throughout New Jersey
- Negotiate directly with insurance carriers and move cases toward resolution
- Evaluate liability, damages, medical records, expert reports, and settlement value
- Prepare cases for trial and participate in trials based on your experience and readiness
- Work directly with the firm’s partners on case strategy and major decisions
- Take ownership of files, with guidance available when needed
- Two to ten years of personal injury litigation experience on the plaintiff or insurance-defense side
- New Jersey bar admission required
- New York bar admission is a meaningful plus
- Deposition experience appropriate to your level of practice
- For more experienced candidates, the ability to independently handle depositions, appearances, negotiations, and other litigation events
- Trial experience, second-chair experience, or a genuine interest in developing as a trial lawyer is a plus
- Strong writing, communication, and negotiation skills
- Sound judgment and a willingness to take responsibility for moving files forward
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload
- Defense-side attorneys interested in transitioning to plaintiff-side practice are strongly encouraged to apply
We are open to candidates at different stages of their careers. Compensation and responsibility will reflect experience, litigation ability, judgment, and the level of independence the attorney can assume.
No billable hours. We are a contingency-fee practice. Your job is to produce good outcomes for seriously injured people.
Strong support. Our attorneys work with an experienced paralegal and case-management team, allowing them to focus on litigation, negotiation, strategy, and resolution.
Real responsibility. You will receive meaningful deposition, arbitration, mediation, and courtroom opportunities based on your experience and readiness.
Direct partner access. You will work closely with the firm’s partners, without unnecessary layers of management.
Professional growth. The position offers an active caseload, regular litigation experience, and the opportunity to develop quickly as a plaintiff-side attorney.
