Manufacturing Engineer

For over 44 years, a leading Southern California Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) company, whose services include PCB Assemblies and Test, Electro-Mechanical Assemblies and Systems Integration and Test has been providing manufacturing services to the industrial, medical, aerospace, defense, and automotive markets. The Company has an excellent Manufacturing Engineer opportunity due to exceptional growth over the past two years.

Responsibilities:

· Develop manufacturing processes for PCBA (SMT and through-hole) and Electromechanical production by reviewing assembly documentation, establishing production processes, creating assembly instructions, and training production personnel. Create RMA rework instructions.

· Daily floor support

· Review and verify stencil design per design guidelines as needed.

· Review reflow ovens and optimize reflow profiles for new products.

· Review/Create and optimize AOI and X-Ray inspection programming.

· Order, review and validate assembly fixtures.

· Review production yield data, participate in root cause analysis, and implement process controls to ensure performance targets are met and sustained.

· Identify and verify new processes and equipment with the intent of achieving continuous improvement of current methods.

· Create and maintain process and equipment documentation to support new and existing products.

· Perform corrective actions based on Quality and Test Failure Metrics.

· Work with Quality to resolve customer quality and production issues.

· Perform DFM review as needed. Participate in quoting activities.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· BS degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.

· Processing experience in conformal coating is a plus.

· Experience with Gerber software, and Factory Logix floor system is preferred.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers.

· In depth knowledge in IPC-A-610, IPC-620, J-Std-001 is required. IPC-600 knowledge is a plus. Experience in lean processing, 6S, floor Layout, facility knowledge desired.

· Knowledge in ISO 9001/AS 9100/ISO 13485 QMS working environment desired

· Must be computer literate (MS office, ERP system and other work-related software).

· Willing to learn and use new software (Factory Logix, GC Power Place, GC Tools, CircuitCAM, Epicor, QCBD, etc.).
