Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Buyer position based in Santa Ana, CA, reporting to the Materials Manager. The Senior Buyer will support the Master Schedule by managing procurement activities for assigned customers, including sourcing, supplier management, RFQs, negotiations, and purchase order execution for electronic, mechanical, and production-related materials. Responsibilities include monitoring supplier performance, resolving delivery and quality issues, maintaining accurate procurement records, and collaborating with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to support efficient manufacturing operations. The role also contributes to inventory optimization, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
Qualifications/Skills -
• Previous experience in a contract manufacturing or EMS environment required
• 3–5 years of purchasing experience with electronic components, PCB fabrication, and metal fabrication in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of MRP systems (Epicor experience preferred), supplier negotiations, and contract management
• Experience with eProcurement platforms and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to read and interpret product structures, BOMs, drawings, and Gerber files
• Proven ability to negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and supplier agreements while driving continuous cost improvements
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with suppliers and cross-functional teams at all organizational levels
