What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wholesale Account Executive, Jewelry position at Parle' Jewelry Designs?
Account Executive Position
Who We Are
Parle’ builds meaningful relationships through extraordinary jewelry that becomes part of the client's life story. Since 1973, our family-owned company has grown from mining Idaho opals into one of the most respected colored gemstone jewelry makers in the country, with 18 years of JCK Jeweler's Choice Awards. Those award-winning pieces are crafted right here in Pocatello and carried by jewelers across the country, who trust us to help them put the right piece in front of the right client.
Our purpose is simple: to build a great team and family. The jewelry we make becomes part of someone's generational story, whether it is an engagement ring, an anniversary band, or a pendant passed down to a grandchild. We are looking for people who want their work to matter that much.
When you join Parle’, you are not just taking orders. You are the trusted partner who helps a jewelry store share that story with their clients.
The Seat
We are hiring a full-time Account Executive. You will own the relationships with a book of wholesale jewelry store accounts, the stores that carry Parle’ and share our work with their clients. You will be their go-to person at Parle’, helping them choose the right pieces, train their staff, and grow their sales.
Most of this seat is about deepening the relationships we already have and turning good accounts into great ones. You will also present Parle’ to new jewelry stores and help bring them into the family. This seat is based in Pocatello and includes 10 to 15 weeks of travel per year for store visits, trade shows, and in-store events.
What You Will Own
- Owns the growth and health of an assigned book of wholesale accounts, delivering service that keeps jewelers coming back.
- Owns presenting and selling Parle’ collections to new and existing accounts.
- Owns educating and training store staff so every account can sell Parle’ with confidence.
- Owns planning, setting up, and running trade shows, plus booking and leading sales, training, and special events in our accounts’ stores.
- Owns following up with every account, keeping them aware of what is new, and resolving questions and concerns quickly.
- Owns accurate, timely reporting, and bringing market feedback and plans for future growth back to leadership.
Our Core Values
We hire, review, and grow our team by these values. Here is what they look like on the road and in front of our accounts.
Relational
You listen first, communicate clearly, and treat every account and coworker with respect. You tell accounts the truth, even when it is not what they hoped to hear, and you follow through on every promise.
Loyal
You are committed to this team and your accounts for the long haul. You show up motivated and determined, and you stay with a relationship through slow seasons as well as busy ones.
Playful Passion
You bring energy and enthusiasm to every store visit, trade show, and event, and you genuinely love sharing beautiful jewelry and the stories behind it.
Teamwork
You help first, do the right thing when no one is watching, and work hand in hand with our production and support teams so every promise to an account is kept.
Authentic
You are genuine with accounts and coworkers, you earn trust through your results, and you carry no sense of entitlement.
Brave
You are resourceful and adaptable, comfortable walking into a new store or handling a tough conversation, and confident enough to ask for help.
This Probably Is Not the Seat for You If…
- You want to close a sale and move on, rather than stay with an account for years.
- You would rather avoid a hard conversation with an account than tell them the truth.
- You prefer a fixed desk schedule and do not want to be on the road 10 to 15 weeks a year.
- You need someone checking in on you every day to stay on track.
What We Look For
Get it. You understand that jewelry stores buy from people they trust, and that the relationship is the job. You see what an account needs, often before they ask, and you know that when our accounts succeed, we succeed.
Want it. You enjoy building long-term relationships, you like being on the road with accounts, and you take pride in growing an account year after year. You want to be a partner, not just a salesperson.
Capacity to do it. You have at least 5 years of sales or account management experience, preferably in the fashion or jewelry industry. You have excellent verbal and written communication, strong presentation and organization skills, and you are proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. You are confident, self-assured, and able to work on your own. A bachelor's degree in business, communication, or a related field is preferred.
How Success Is Measured
We run on clear, numbers so everyone knows where they stand. You will always know how you are doing, and you will have a team that helps you improve.
In this seat, your numbers include:
- Account sales growth compared to the same period last year (target: 10%)
- Key account contacts per week (target: 20)
- New accounts opened or reactivated per quarter (goal set each quarter, typically 5 to 10)
- Trade show appointments booked (goal set for each show, typically 10 to 20)
Travel and Work Environment
- Travel of 10 to 15 weeks per year for trade shows, store visits, and in-store events.
- Weekends may be required for trade shows and special events, with comp days given in exchange.
- Ability to help set up and run trade show booths and in-store events.
- When not traveling, you will work from our Pocatello office on a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with a 1-hour lunch.
