LVN/RN - Charge Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) or RN (Registered Nurse) to step into the vital role of Charge Nurse within our healthcare team. Duties

• Assume responsibility for overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care across shifts.
• Lead and support nursing staff by providing guidance, mentorship, and clinical expertise in various care settings including medical-surgical, long-term care, or emergency environments.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physiological evaluations to inform individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following strict protocols and medical documentation standards.
• Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, dementia care such as Alzheimer’s and memory care, and infectious disease protocols with precision and compassion.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems like Epic or Cerner.
• Coordinate discharge planning, patient education, and family communication to promote optimal recovery and well-being.

Qualifications

• Valid LVN or RN license with current state licensure required; BSN preferred for RN candidates.
• Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
• Proven expertise in diverse clinical skills including IV insertion, catheterization, sterile technique, ventilator management, and medical documentation.
• Familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate medical recordkeeping; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to acute and chronic care settings.
• Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living facilities is advantageous.
• Excellent leadership abilities combined with effective communication skills to motivate staff and ensure outstanding patient care.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
