Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care across all shifts.
- Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to support accurate clinical evaluations.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to promote professional development and teamwork.
- Manage patient flow, triage urgent needs, and prioritize interventions for individuals with complex medical conditions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection control policies, and long-term care regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality and safety.
- Facilitate communication among interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers for seamless care delivery.
- Assist with medical procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, wound suturing, and medication administration while adhering to aseptic techniques.
Requirements
- Valid RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing with current state certification.
- Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and patient record management.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex cases involving Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, pain management, and infectious disease protocols.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments including hospital medicine and skilled nursing facilities.
- Proficiency in clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and sterile processing techniques.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate medical documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform patient assessments, physical examinations, and health coaching effectively.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
