Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using EMR/EHR system such as Athenahealth. Preferred experience with Athena.
- Verify insurance coverage and process medical collections accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage patient records by filing, updating, and reviewing medical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain clinic operations by managing electronic health records (EHR), reviewing documentation, and ensuring confidentiality policies are followed
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR system such as Athenahealth
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous OB/GYN clinic office experience with medical administrative support is preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
- Effective communication skills for patient service roles and phone interactions in a fast-paced environment
