What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate (Part-Time) - Specialty Pharmacy Mon-Thurs - 28 Hours per week position at Parkway Pharmacy?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Associate works closely with the pharmacy department to ensure the timely and accurate receipt of medications and supplies, and prepares packages for delivery to patients; processes shipping labels, tracks delivery of all packages, works to maintain delivery compliance and handles patients calls when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes shipping labels using Fedex Manager, USPS ShippingEasy and in-house courier labels and packages prescriptions according to delivery instructions.
- Confirms shipment deliveries and performs delivery confirmation tasks at end of day.
- Assists in receiving inventory and supplies.
- Tracks daily delivery reports and follows up on any delivery exceptions. Submits claims to FedEx /USPS on an as needed basis.
- Utilizes reports and Fed Ex/USPS Proof of Delivery to update delivery notes into management system for fills and Specialty Scripts (as needed).
- Stocks and maintains all shipping and office supplies in work area as needed.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service.
- Responds promptly to patient and physician requests.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and discretion.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move around the facility, bending and reach overhead
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to accept and transport large deliveries into the pharmacy
- Must be able to stand and move around quickly for long periods of the day.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of one-year experience in shipping and/or receiving, preferred.
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
- Capacity to work with limited supervision and support, in a rapidly changing and fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a collaborative manner with other departments and teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
