What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Technician position at Parkway Animal Hospital?
Job requirements:
- Be reliable and able to work as a team
- Provide assistance to our Veterinarians and Technicians.
- Take pets’ weight and other vital signs upon arrival.
- Provide low stress patient restraint during procedures and examinations.
- Adhere to hospital’s safety and wellness regulations.
- Observe patients for obvious signs of health concerns and report to veterinarian or senior staff.
- Prepare patient meals, sanitize patient cages and bedding, and maintain litter boxes.
- Safely walk dogs in the hospital and boarding
- Clean out enclosures
- Administer basic medications to boarding pets
- Safely handle cats in boarding/hospital
- Bathe dogs
- Keep up with the day’s laundry
- Help keep the clinic clean and tidy
- Help restock pet food
- Be able to lift 40 pounds on own
- Be able to work weekends and holidays
- Help front desk take food/meds/pets out to client's vehicles
Education:
High school or equivalent: (required)
Experience:
Kennel: 1 year (preferred)
Fear Free training: (preferred but not required)
Hours per week:
