Responsibilities
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling to meet breed standards and owner preferences
- Handle animals with care and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance with precision and compassion
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming needs and provide advice on pet coat styling and general pet care
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station, adhering to sanitation protocols and safety guidelines
- Assist with animal handling during grooming procedures, including dog training and veterinary-related tasks when needed
- Support kennel or pet sitting duties as required, including heavy lifting of animals or supplies
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming
- Strong dog handling skills coupled with animal handling expertise
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively during grooming.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners about grooming preferences and pet health concerns
- Familiarity with animal care practices including heavy lifting of animals or supplies when necessary
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a passion for providing compassionate care to animals and their owners
