Radiology Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Radiology Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will operate advanced radiologic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients effectively. Your expertise in various imaging modalities, including X-ray, and CT, will be instrumental in delivering exceptional patient care. Duties

• Insures that correct procedure is being performed on the right patient.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort while adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure during all imaging procedures.
• Develops film by automatic or manual processing.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations across various settings including outpaitent settings and emergency room settings.
• Transport patients to and from the department if indicated.
• Maintain detailed documentation of imaging procedures, patient information, and technical parameters in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Files and retrieves films.
• Records and provides charges for procedures performed.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality imaging results that support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Check supply levels and reorder supplies when required.
• Clean equipment and practice sterile technique.
• Assist with prevention and periodic maintenance of equipment.
• Report equipment problems to the appropriate authority.
• Other various duties as assigned.

On-Call

• Must be willing to periodically take call on nights and weekends.
• Technicians designated as on-call must arrive on-site within 30 minutes of initial notification or page.

Experience

• Prior work experience: One year as a registered radiology technician preferred.
• Technical training: Training in CT scanning preferred.
• Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols effectively.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology to accurately position patients for diagnostic imaging.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to radiology and diagnostic evaluation processes.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain aseptic technique during invasive or sterile procedures involving interventional radiology or nuclear medicine.
