Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Radiology Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Insures that correct procedure is being performed on the right patient.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure during all imaging procedures.
- Develops film by automatic or manual processing.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations across various settings including outpaitent settings and emergency room settings.
- Transport patients to and from the department if indicated.
- Maintain detailed documentation of imaging procedures, patient information, and technical parameters in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Files and retrieves films.
- Records and provides charges for procedures performed.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality imaging results that support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Check supply levels and reorder supplies when required.
- Clean equipment and practice sterile technique.
- Assist with prevention and periodic maintenance of equipment.
- Report equipment problems to the appropriate authority.
- Other various duties as assigned.
On-Call
- Must be willing to periodically take call on nights and weekends.
- Technicians designated as on-call must arrive on-site within 30 minutes of initial notification or page.
Experience
- Prior work experience: One year as a registered radiology technician preferred.
- Technical training: Training in CT scanning preferred.
- Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols effectively.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology to accurately position patients for diagnostic imaging.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to radiology and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain aseptic technique during invasive or sterile procedures involving interventional radiology or nuclear medicine.
