Part Time Teacher - Virtual Services

Position: Virtual Learning Setting Teacher: Two 1-hour sessions/wk

Location: Charlotte Public Schools

Assignment/Responsibility: Responsible for direct instruction of elmentary aged students in the virtual learning setting. A wide variety of tasks are performed in the teaching-learning process for students, primarily to help students to return to school as prepared learners. Facilitate effective learning and utilizes effective teaching methods to support student growth while school is not in session. Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Teaches District approved curriculum. Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. Assumes responsibility for meeting course student instructional goals.

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree. State of Michigan teacher certification. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of school curriculum and philosophy, effective instruction principles, assessment procedures and learning theory. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to interact proactively with parents.
