Job Title: Educational Assistant
Summary:
Assists teachers in achieving instructional goals by working with individual students or small groups to reinforce classroom learning and promote student development.
Essential Functions:
- Reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher
- Assist in planning and implementing strategies tailored to student needs
- Operate and care for instructional equipment and materials
- Guide independent study, remedial, and enrichment work
- Supervise students during transitions, drills, recess, and field trips, including on school transportation
- Maintain classroom displays and bulletin boards
- Assist with attendance, grading, and classroom organization
- Support students with daily routines such as lunch, cleanup, and toileting
- Communicate student progress or concerns to the teacher
- Adhere to all NMPED and district training requirements
- Demonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to all district and state educational standards
Qualifications:
- Level 1 NM Educational Assistant License (must advance to a Level 3 within 90 days of hire)
- Pre-K Educational Assistants: AA in Early Childhood Development or willingness to earn 6 credits per academic year toward completion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 NM Educational Assistant License

Summary:
Provides a structured, supportive learning environment for students assigned to In-School Suspension (ISS), ensuring continuity of instruction and promoting responsible behavior.
Essential Functions, additional to those above:
- Supervise students assigned to ISS and maintain a positive, productive environment
- Support completion of classwork and reinforce learning as directed by teachers
- Monitor student attendance, assignments, and progress
- Maintain communication with teachers and administrators regarding student behavior and needs
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions
- Ensure student safety and adherence to school policies
- Assist with student transitions and schedule adjustments as necessary
- Maintain classroom order and model appropriate conduct
- Flexible schedule to support smooth transitions of students in and out of ISS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with behavior support strategies and restorative practices

Summary:
Provides individualized support to a student with disabilities to promote academic, social, and physical development, ensuring access to the least restrictive learning environment.
Essential Functions, additional to those above:
- Provide one-on-one assistance to a designated student with physical, behavioral, or cognitive needs
- Assist with physical care tasks such as toileting, feeding, dressing, or mobility
- Support instructional activities under the direction of the Special Education Teacher
- Accompany the student during transitions, field trips, and school activities; including on school transportation
- Support student in developing positive relationships and independence
- Maintain open communication with teachers and ancillary providers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including assistance with sanitization tasks
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. and assist in moving students up to 140 lbs. as needed
- May be required to complete Suburban Transportation Training and transport student(s) to and from a different location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of special education instructional and behavioral strategies
