Truck Driver - CDL-A

Atlantic Plywood Corporation, a leading distributor of premium hardwood plywood and panel products, is seeking a skilled and safety-minded Class A CDL Driver to join our team. The Driver’s primary responsibility is to deliver and pick up materials in a timely, safe, and courteous manner while providing excellent customer service and representing our company with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport materials to and from customer locations on schedule.
• Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Comply with all DOT regulations, safety policies, and company operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and delivery documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse, and customers.
• Keep assigned vehicle clean and in good operating condition.
• Assist with load securement using winches, ratchet straps, and curtain-side trailers.
• Follow instructions from the Warehouse or Sales Manager and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Current Medical Card and acceptable DOT drug/alcohol test history.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Minimum 1 year of CDL driving experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude; dependable and team-oriented.
• Knowledge of GVWR limits, load securement, and OSHA standards preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 90 lbs.
• Regular use of hands, feet, and full-body mobility to load, unload, and secure freight.
• Frequent pushing/pulling of truck side curtains and tie-downs.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and outdoor elements.
• Ability to sit, stand, and drive for prolonged periods.
