- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilization techniques following infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of medical and dental histories
- Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient assessments
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and medical documentation
- Support the dental receptionist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow for a seamless clinic experience
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures with solid knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
- Experience working with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient record management
- Skilled in taking X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technologies
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children in a clinical setting
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and basic medical documentation accurately
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals
