What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collision Estimator Assistant (57958) position at Parks Automotive Group?
Job Responsibilities:
- Primary duties are to assist assigned Estimator with their day to day functions
- Break down estimates into labor and parts before job is started so body men are aware of time allowances
- Follow up parts department orders to insure parts availability
- Revise and approve time allowances of each job
- Assist with quality check of completed jobs
- Prepare final billing for completed repair orders
- Responsible for aiding the Body Shop Manager in the daily activities of the shop. These include: communications with technicians, painters, other departments with-in the dealership, insurance company representatives, parts wholesalers, and especially customers.
- Investigate new equipment and tools in the field and recommend purchases
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department
- Check the general Body Shop appearance (outside and inside)
- Estimate writing, repair selling, job scheduling, completion date notification, repair order billing, filing, problem solving, phone answering, supplement authorization and follow-up, weekly payroll, Quality Control maintenance and continual education in the Body Shop Industry.
- Examine Body Shop ROs and other paperwork in Body Shop Office
- Make occasional inspections of completed ready-for-delivery body work. (Is the quality and general appearance of car acceptable?)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Two years experience in a dealership estimator position preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
