RECEIVING CLERK

Summary

This person needs to be a highly organized individual who is detail oriented and is knowledgeable about our company products and materials. You should have a basic knowledge on how materials should be stored and maintained. You will pull stock, prepare orders, handle all incoming and outgoing shipments, organize the warehouse, operate forklifts and reach trucks. Enter shipping and receiving information using company software. Perform the necessary duties involved with shipping and receiving by examining shipping contents and comparing with records such as manifests and invoices to insure accuracy of incoming and outgoing freight. At times the candidate will spend time helping customers, assisting staff members, and processing merchandise to increase departmental performance. In conjunction with store leadership, this position executes the Parkrose Hardware brand by bringing products to customers with knowledgeable assistance as needed. This Job is physical, you must be able repeatedly lift 40 lbs. and be on your feet for several hours at a time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Customer Service

• Ensures customers are provided with the highest levels of customer service.
• Consistently provides customers with accurate information about current specials and promotions.
• Listens to customers and provides courteous and knowledgeable assistance to each and every customer.
• Effectively share product knowledge and provide direction as necessary to fellow staff members.

Sales

• Provides information to other associates to improve sales and increase product knowledge across the store.
• Ensures merchandise is sold at company established prices and discrepancies are addressed and resolved promptly.
• Knowledgeable of merchandise on the sales floor, back stock levels, and locations of products.

Merchandise Processing

• Identifies and corrects pricing abnormalities with the assistance of the purchasing team.
• Ensure a smooth flow of products from the back room to the sales floor.
• Provide a pleasant and safe shopping experience.
• Ensure cleanliness and facing standards are met in areas of responsibility.
• Address asset protection issues as they arise and proactively work to decrease losses.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School degree or G.E.D. equivalent, plus experience in a retail/receiving environment.
• Must be able to effectively navigate basic computer programs and be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, etc.
• Strong math proficiency preferred.

Paid Time Off:

All employees start accruing Sick time benefits upon their hire date. They can start using these benefits after they have completed 90 days of employment. Sick time is accrued at .0334 hour per every hour worked. 40 hours of Sick time per year can be carried over to the following year. For full time employees Vacation benefits are awarded January 1 for the preceding year. 1 year is pro-rated 40 hours from the year before. 2 full year gets 40 hours of paid Vacation. 3 and 4 full year 80 hours of paid Vacation. 5 full year and beyond 120 hours of paid Vacation.

Paid Holidays:

New Years Day Memorial Day Labor Day

4 of July Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day

All holiday pay will be paid the week of the holiday. Salaried Management may be delayed slightly because of coverage needs. No paid holidays for part time employees.

Sunday Premium Pay:

All hourly (Non-Management staff) are eligible for $1.00 per hour extra for work on Sunday.

401 K Plan:

All eligible staff (30 days of employment, 21 year old) are able to participate in the company sponsored 401-k plan. Parkrose Hardware funds a match. 100% first 3% of wages and 50% next 2%.

Life Insurance and Long Term Disability:

Each eligible employee of Parkrose Hardware is provided with a company provided Life Insurance and AD&D policy of $10,000. This is paid for by Parkrose Hardware. Additional supplemental life insurance is available. Parkrose Hardware also provides company paid long term disability insurance for full time employees. These benefits are not available to part time employees.

Health Insurance:

Each full time employee of Parkrose Hardware is eligible for company provided medical insurance, of which the a percentage of the cost is paid for by ParkroseHardware for full time staff members. Family medical and dental insurance is also available but not funded byParkroseHardware. We also offer HSA (Heath Saving Accounts) for full time employees. Parkrose Hardware currently offer matching funds for the first $500 an employee contributes to their HSA. *Employees must meet eligibility requirements. No Health care benefits for part time employees.

Employee Purchases:

We offer employees a discount of cost plus 10% on retail and rental rates.

Pay: $17.33 - $18.00 per hour
