Parking Lot Attendants play a critical role in helping customers navigate parking lots, understand electronic payment options, and maintain a positive first impression of the parking experience.

This is not a desk job. This is a physically demanding outdoor position requiring employees to work in extreme heat and weather, remain active throughout scheduled shifts, and handle difficult customer interactions professionally. Reliable attendance is non-negotiable.

What You’ll do

Parking Lot Operations & Traffic Direction

  • Monitor traffic and actively wave approaching vehicles into the parking lot to maximize occupancy and customer flow
  • Maintain visible, energetic, and professional engagement with passing drivers to encourage lot usage
  • Direct vehicles into designated parking areas safely and efficiently
  • Monitor traffic flow and assist with congestion during high-volume periods
  • Ensure customers understand parking procedures and lot entry requirements
  • Maintain awareness of lot capacity and operational needs
  • Support smooth entry and exit flow throughout the shift

Customer Service & Parking Support

  • Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Explain parking rates, electronic payment methods, and lot policies clearly
  • Assist customers with pay stations and scan-to-pay technology
  • Answer general questions regarding parking operations and nearby areas
  • Maintain a helpful and professional presence while representing ParkMB

Customer Conflict Management

  • Handle upset or frustrated customers professionally and calmly
  • Maintain composure during stressful or confrontational interactions
  • Refer escalated customer issues to management when appropriate
  • Communicate parking policies clearly and consistently
  • Maintain professionalism even during difficult customer interactions

Lot Appearance & Maintenance Support

  • Pick up trash and debris throughout parking facilities
  • Perform light landscaping and lot appearance maintenance as assigned
  • Monitor lot cleanliness and report maintenance concerns
  • Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers
  • Support overall presentation and upkeep of parking facilities

Team Support & Reliability

  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality during scheduled shifts
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Adapt to changing operational needs and seasonal traffic volume
  • Support additional operational tasks as assigned
  • Contribute to a team-oriented and customer-focused work environment

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in extreme heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain physically active and alert throughout scheduled shifts
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in a high-visibility customer-facing environment
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during difficult customer interactions
  • Ability to handle confrontation and stressful situations professionally
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required and considered essential functions of the position
  • Ability to work independently and follow operational procedures
  • Ability to perform light physical labor, including trash pickup and light landscaping tasks
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal schedules as needed
  • Background check required

Preferred:

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous experience working outdoors or in physically demanding environments
  • Experience in parking operations, hospitality, tourism, events, or traffic direction
  • Experience handling cashless payment systems or customer transactions

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Part-time and full-time seasonal positions available
  • Opportunity for year-round employment based on performance and operational needs
  • Typical shifts include:
  • 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (may extend to Midnight during busier periods)
  • Hours of operation are generally 9:00 AM – Midnight, with schedules varying by season
  • Outdoor work environment with prolonged exposure to heat, humidity, sun, and changing weather conditions
  • Umbrella, stool, and water are provided, but employees should expect physically demanding working conditions
  • Position requires extended periods of standing, walking, directing traffic, and interacting with customers
  • High-volume environment during peak tourism, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Position requires employees to remain physically active, alert, and customer-focused throughout scheduled shifts

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay: $13.00 per hour
  • Seasonal position; benefits are not currently offered
  • Opportunities for additional hours and/or year-round employment based on performance and operational needs
