Starting Salary: Up to $35/per hour DOE
The Opportunity:
The Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining company vehicles. This position also performs inspections on machinery and equipment and maintains the shop in accordance with company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance to include but not limited to: Preventative Maintenance services, air brake repairs, annual inspections, tires repairs, electrical diagnostics, suspension repairs, etc. All in accordance to manufacture recommended guidelines.
- Operate shop equipment and machinery in accordance with safety requirements.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Notify Shop & Transportation Manager of equipment malfunctions.
- Documentation of work completed to comply with DOT regulations.
- Move products between stations and shipping area as needed. Including loading and unloading of rail cars.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
- Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
- Must meet performance expectations and complete all duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year mechanical experience, working with heavy duty trucks and equipment
- Previous experience in Welding is preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to obtain Forklift certification
- Knowledge of fuel, heating and oil and/or lubricant industry preferred
- Diesel Mechanic certifications or background working in truck repair & maintenance
- The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
