Job Overview:
PLEASE NOTE: Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred for this position! We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at our IRONTON pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution. Your expertise and knowledge will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing medications to patients
- Prepare and package medications for distribution
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Perform medication reconciliation and ensure accuracy of patient profiles
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedure
- Process and input prescription information into pharmacy system
- Communicate with insurance companies to ensure paid claims
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Prescription processing experience is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practice
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is highly desirable
