Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Caregiver specializing in Memory Care to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional personal and medical support to residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments. As a Certified Caregiver, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive care, meaningful interaction, and diligent support.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health stability.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Provide specialized dementia and memory care by implementing personalized care plans that promote cognitive engagement and reduce behavioral challenges.
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to maintain nutritional health.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Caregiver with specialized training in Memory Care or Alzheimer’s care.
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
- Knowledge of long-term care practices including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring direct support.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly through first aid skills and emergency response protocols.
- Valid driver’s license preferred for driving residents or running community errands when necessary.
