Electrical Panel Assembler/Machine Wiring Technician
Parkinson Technologies Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of large-scale winding, web-handling, and plastics processing equipment, has an immediate opening for an Electrical Panel Assembler/ Machine Wirer within our assembly department.
Required Skills:
- Drilling and Tapping: As an assembler, you’ll need to use a portable drill to create holes in panels and components.
- Soldering: Joining wires and connectors as needed.
- Machine Wiring: Wiring newly assembled panels and machines on the shop floor.
- Determining Wire Gauge and Length: Ensuring the correct wire gauge and length according to panel and machine wiring schematics.
- Basic Tools: Having a basic tool kit of screwdrivers, cutters and wire strippers.
Responsibilities:
- Point-to-Point Wiring: You’ll follow wiring diagrams and connect components based on the schematic.
- Assembly: Assemble electrical panels and sub-assemblies based on Engineering-supplied schematics.
- Project Execution: Complete projects within budget and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Work around part shortages and address print corrections to maintain progress with the Engineering team.
- Facilities Maintenance: Support facilities maintenance tasks as needed.
- Overtime: Be prepared for overtime based on business volume.
Physical Requirements:
- Being able to lift 30 pounds is necessary for handling equipment and materials
- Standing, kneeling, or lying down for extended periods is part of this role.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Graduate or higher degree.
- Reading Schematics: Ability to read industrial panel layout drawings, point-to-point wiring diagrams, wiring schematics, and bills of materials is preferred but not necessary.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience preferred but not necessary.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and professional communication skills.
