CNC and manual lathes Machinist

Parkinson Technologies, Inc., a growing manufacturer of winding and plastic processing equipment, has immediate openings for a Machinist. The selected individual will report to the Production Supervisor, and be responsible for the production of machined parts for our large scaled machinery in a job shop environment. Manufacture precision parts using CNC and manual lathes. Must be familiar with Fanuc and Haas controls and programing.

Job requirements are:

• Must be able to operate CNC (Haas and Fanuc) and manual lathes.
• Must be able to read, and interpret programs, and modify as needed.
• Must have experience with and knowledge of machining processes and tooling, understanding of appropriate feeds and speeds, applications for different types of tooling etc.
• Must be able to setup tooling, including replacing tools and inserts as needed.
• Must be able to use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges etc to check pieces prior to machining and to inspect finished work for compliance with prints.
• Must be able to read and interpret prints, and read and interpret GD&T symbols.
• Must be able to properly setup pieces to be machined, including castings and weldments.
• Must have excellent mechanical skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs to load pieces into machine.
• Must be able to monitor machining operations and adjust parameters as needed to improve machining operations.
• Must be able to safely operate hoists for lifting and loading of heavy pieces.
• Must be willing and able to perform basic machine maintenance.
• Must be familiar with use of basic hand tools.
• Must be a team player, able and willing to work collaboratively with coworkers.

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate. Trade school plus.
• 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interface with people on all levels.
• Strong work ethic.
• Proven programming experience.
• Knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, and shop mathematics.

Additional Considerations:

• Familiar with cranes and hoisting equipment.
• Experience operating Fork Trucks.
