Overview
Parkinson Technologies, Inc., a growing manufacturer of winding and plastic processing equipment, has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in various accounting software. The Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's financial health. This position report to the CEO and CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accounts payable data entry for all vendor invoices
- Maintain/reconcile AP Trial Balances for AP and AP Clearing accounts.
- Work with vendors and purchasing to reconcile vendor accounts and billing issues.
- Prepare weekly check runs with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Process employee expense reports and reconcile associated travel advance accounts.
- Perform invoice processing for all customer shipments and progress billings (i.e., advance deposits), and process all accounts receivable transactions, including credits, and payments/cash application.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely payment processing and address any issues related to accounts receivable collections.
- Conduct account analyses and manage customer accounts to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain/reconcile AR Trial Balance.
- Maintain ledger (in XL) of all customer advance deposits and reconcile monthly balances.
- Maintain record of all insurance policies and track/calculate prepaid premiums for review by the CFO.
- Maintain record of other prepaids, liabilities, and equity accounts, as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of the internal monthly reporting package and other financial reports in accordance with guidance from the CEO and CFO.
- Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy, including journal entries.
- Run month end closing, as needed (shared responsibility), prepare monthly closing entries and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Assist the CFO by providing requested information, reports, and various research and/or special projects.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, equivalent experience, or other advanced degree.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity and understanding of basic accounting concepts to recognize and resolve bookkeeping issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, flexibly, and responsively while working with competing priorities and deadlines.
Other Considerations:
- Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience with Job Shop Manufacturing and Purchasing systems (e.g., receipts to stock; receipts to work orders, etc.), especially Visual manufacturing and accounting software, is a big plus.
- Comfortability and/or experience with Crystal Reports and Synoptics a plus.
