Summary
As a Group Fitness Instructor at the Parkersburg YMCA, you will play a vital role in promoting health and wellness within our community. This position involves leading diverse fitness classes that align with our mission to nurture individual growth and community strength.
Responsibilities
- Fill-in and lead fitness classes when the main instructor is absent.
- Lead group fitness classes including but not limited to Yoga, Pilates, Step Aerobics, and Spin.
- Educate participants on proper exercise techniques and body mechanics for safety and effectiveness.
- Foster a welcoming environment that encourages participation from all community members.
Qualifications
- Certified personal trainer or group fitness instructor with relevant certifications.
- Experience in leading fitness classes.
- Knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics to ensure safe exercise practices.
- Excellent communication skills to motivate and engage participants effectively.
- Ability to design personalized fitness programs based on individual needs.
- Passion for health and wellness with a commitment to community service.
- Experience working in a health club or gym setting is preferred but not required.
