What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Fleet Technician position at PARKER WATER & SANITATION DISTRICT?
General Statement of Duties
This non-exempt, non-benefited, temporary position performs general miscellaneous tasks for the Fleet department.
Supervision Received
Works under the supervision of the Fleet Coordinator and the general supervision of the Operations Program Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Duties may include, but not limited to:

Transportation of vehicles, equipment & trailers to service centers.

Light repairs of vehicles: wiper blades, batteries, flat tires, replacement of decals, etc.

Assist in equipment and trailer trainings.

Outfit vehicles with safety equipment.

Keep fleet supplies and vehicle care cabinets stocked.

Perform routine clean-up and housekeeping of work areas and equipment.
Qualifications / Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record acceptable to the District’s insurance company.
Working Conditions / Physical Activities

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day workweek. May be subject to overtime on an as-needed basis to work within the department and for other duties as assigned.

Work is performed on construction sites, in office situations, and at a wastewater treatment facility where noise, irritants, dust, dirt, bacteria, hazardous chemicals/air/materials and fumes are present. May come into contact with raw wastewater.

Work may take place outside in all weather conditions. May be exposed to risks typically associated with working around water, chemicals, electricity and other man-made and natural hazards.

Full range of body movements including stooping, twisting, kneeling, bending, leaning, reaching, climbing (heights), stretching and working in awkward positions. May stand for extended periods of time.

Physical effort required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasional and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.

Must be able to operate vehicles and equipment, read, record and interpret information. Must be able to communicate with other employees and the public.
